In my boutique, I only sell retro style suspender belts. So whats the difference betweeen your average suspender belt and a retro sytle suspender belt?
Well!
Firstly, all my suspender belts are high waisted. Regardless of your shape, high waisted is always more flattering. For lovely slimline girls, this gives emphasis to your hips giving you more of a feminine curve. For us ladies who need no help in the curves department, it helps keep the curves in all the right places, giving you a delicious sillhouette. I'm sure you'll all know, anything with a lower waistline often gives you hip squidge! Aside from asthetics, your suspender belt needs somthing to hold on to, to stop it slipping down. Thats where the high waistline comes in again! It rests perfectly on your lady curves, keeping it from working its way down.
Secondly, no matter how much you spend on a suspender belt, 99% of them have plastic fasteners. Logic will tell you that solid, metal ones are much more sturdy, long lasting and practical. All my retro style suspender belts feature metal fasteners.
Thirdly, I have never seen a modern suspender belt that didn't have plastic adjusters. These are the little bits you use to tighten the straps. Not only are they plastic, but they are usually the same as the little adjuster on your bra strap. Add a little bit of tension, and you've got a strap that you're going to spend your whole night fixing! All my adjusters are metal clips, with little teeth in them, so once you've decided on the length you want, you shouldn't need to touch them again.
My fourth point, is that all my suspender belts have six straps. Again, this is very rare amongst modern suspender belts, as they usually have four. Six straps helps keep everything in place, which is especially handy for keeping those seamed stockings in line!
My fifth and final point is that they look gorgeously glamorous!
So there you have it.... the delights of a retro style suspender belt.
